Dobby's Story

Dobby is a 7-month-old black kitten born with auricular polyotia — a genetic mutation so rare it occurs in roughly 1 in 1,000,000 cats. He has two extra non-functional ear flaps that frame his face like butterfly wings.

Named after the beloved Harry Potter house elf, Dobby was rehomed when he couldn't get along with his previous family's senior cat. On February 8, 2026, foster mom Stephanie Brown from Pelham, Alabama — a veteran who has fostered 130+ cats through Kitty Kat Haven & Rescue — saw his photo and "audibly squealed."
